$1.1M Point Lookout home has London phone booth shower
A Point Lookout home with unusual features, such as an outdoor shower fashioned from an authentic London phone booth, is on the market for $1.075 million. The annual property taxes are $11,639.
Located on Beech Street, the property includes dual driveways, a rarity for the area, said listing agent Leah Tozer, of Daniel Gale Sotheby's International Realty.
"Having two driveways is wildly sought after in Point Lookout, because you can't park there," Tozer said. "And it's one block from the beach."
The 0.06-acre property includes three bedrooms and 1½ bathrooms. There is a deck that wraps around from the front to the side of the house. The phone booth outside was imported from England by the seller, who is an antique collector, Tozer said.
"When he was traveling to London, he was able to buy one of the original phone booths," she said. "And it's so heavy so when they came to deliver it, wherever they dropped it was where it was going to be."
The seller had plumbing installed, and the door can lock, she added. Inside the home, there is "an old, original public-school handle on one of the bathroom doors," Tozer added.
"There's just so much charm and so many very detailed antiques that the owner had put into the property," she said.
Other notable features include a wood-burning fireplace in the living room, a garage and private beach access.
"Point Lookout is a very special place," said Tozer. "You can feel like you're in a quaint, fabulous beach town, all year round."
The property is in the Long Beach School District.
