Melo: Hello, goodbye Nuggets fans
Despite his controversial departure from Denver, Carmelo Anthony expressed his gratitude to Nuggets fans in a message on his website Thursday.
"I had to let you know how I felt about you, the city, my fans, my friends," he wrote 10 days after he was traded to the Knicks in a three-team, 13-player trade. "You've been supportive of me and my NBA career for the past 8 years and that doesn't go unnoticed . . .
"There are no words to express the gratitude and appreciation I have for Denver, the Nuggets and all the fans. You will always be a part of my heart."
Anthony, 26, declined the Nuggets' three-year, $65-million contract extension offer in the offseason, opening the door for the Knicks to swoop in before the Feb. 24 trade deadline.
