A LONDON TREAT
Fans of the NFL in London will see something they have never witnessed: Two teams with winning records. While the league has been playing games here regularly since 2007, the contest between the Giants and Packers, both 3-1, is the first matchup in which both teams are above .500.
This is also the Packers’ first game overseas as they are the last of the 32 teams in the league to make the journey. The Giants have played two regular season games in London, winning in 2007 and ’16, and reaching the playoffs both seasons. The Giants, in fact, are the only team that has played in London and gone on to win the Super Bowl.
DEXTER DELIVERS
Dexter Lawrence’s two sacks against the Bears were a career high in a game and lead the Giants but there is more. According to Next Gen Stats, Lawrence is tied for third among interior DL with 13 QB pressures this season and in the first half against the Bears he generated six pressures, tied for the most in a half over the last 3 seasons by any DL.
“You need to have a center piece of your defense, and he wears that badge with pride,” defensive coordinator Wink Martindale said. “The biggest thing about Dex is he’s so selfless. He’s just as excited for someone else to have success as he is himself. When guys start playing that way, when they start playing for each other like he has, you’ll see good things come from them.”
