BALTIMORE -- Bart Scott confirmed what was so glaringly obvious in the first few weeks of the season: the Jets' biggest issue this year was a lack of talent.

In an interview on Showtime's "Inside The NFL" -- airing Wednesday night at 9 p.m. -- the Jets linebacker said there were no locker room fissures, as was the case in 2011, and that the team was tighter than ever.

"You can ask Tim Tebow," said Scott, who likely won’t return next season because he's owed too much money. "You can ask anybody in there. We were together. There was never any complaining...guys worked hard. You know what the problem was with the New York Jets this year? We didn't have enough quality players to win. Simple as that."

Scott also voiced displeasure with the New York media -- and one nameless reporter in particular.

"I didn't like the personal attacks," said Scott, who tried to stage a media boycott this past season. "A quick example now is the media following Rex (Ryan) down to the Bahamas. I mean, who does that?

"...I can't imagine them going out and catching (Giants coach) Tom Coughlin laid out...and following him. ...We are in the same town but we are covered differently (than the Giants).

Scott also was asked about future Hall of Fame quarterbacks Peyton Manning and Tom Brady:

On Peyton Manning’s legacy following his record-tying 11th playoff loss:
“His legacy is stamped…To come back from the type of injury that he had and elevate this team…to the best record in the NFL is amazing. He is definitely the greatest quarterback of my generation.”

“Tom Brady’s had a greater supporting cast…When Peyton was in Indianapolis, he was a one-man show. He showed his value last year—when he wasn’t there—how that team went from a perennial playoff team to only winning two games.”

Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs was wired during the Ravens-Broncos game last week. On “Inside The NFL” you’ll get to hear Suggs tease Denver fans from the sideline.

“Don’t you all wish at a time like this that you had Tebow?” Suggs said. “What happened to TebowMania?”
