The little guy is hoping to leave a big impression.

Larry Taylor is one of the intriguing players in training camp that's flying under the radar. Taylor, a 5-6, 183-pound wide receiver who played at UConn, spent two seasons suiting up for the Montreal Alouettes. He combined for 1,360 yards and three touchdowns on 137 punt returns and 1,710 yards on 80 kickoff returns in his two seasons, earning the league's 2009 most outstanding special teams player honors.

If he sticks on with the Jets, Taylor, 25, is going to have to carve his niche on special teams here as well.

"He's got a chance to be a special teams presence," Rex Ryan said. "Again, never cut yourself. You just go out there and play your tail off and things will happen to you. Nobody thought Wallace Wright - when he was here for the years that he was, if you just time him in the 40, Wallace wouldn't have been on the team.

"But he ended up having a huge role for us as a special teams contributor. We'll see. He's going to get his opportunity and we'll see how he does in those preseason games."
