Willie Colon raised some eyebrows Sunday in Miami when he refused to talk after the Jets’ impressive win over the Dolphins. The veteran right guard also was a no-show in the locker room Monday for baggy day.

Now we know why.

According to a source, Colon tore his bicep in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game and will undergo surgery Friday.

The timing isn’t good, considering the 30-year-old Bronx native and Hofstra product will be a free agent this year. Colon, who signed a one-year deal with the Jets in March, also nursed a calf injury this season.

Colon – the recipient of this year’s Good Guy media award – was a staunch Rex Ryan supporter this season and also made it known that he wants to be back with the Jets in 2014. But despite the obvious grit he brings to the field and his veteran leadership in the locker room, the Jets front office may decide to take and wait and see approach with Colon.
