CHSAA girls soccer preview

Fear the Friars' front five.
St. Anthony's Kayla Arestivo, Francesca Venezia, Francesca Picicci. Sabrina Cristodero and Miranda Ozimek are athletic, technical, and difficult to contain. They will light up the scoreboard for the defending CHSAA state champions. Sue Alber -- a three-time defender of the year at Hofstra -- takes over for longtime Friars coach Dave Prutting.
St. John the Baptist will compete for the league title behind Bridget Patch, a dynamic player who is a threat to score in a variety of ways. Gianna Giroux is a distributor and goal scorer, Stephanie Sheridan has speed on the wing, Kaela O'Leary anchors the defense, and Skylar Prendergast is a rising star.
Kellenberg has speed all over the field, including KerriAnne Scorce, who is strong on the ball. Kylie Roberts uses her quickness to her advantage and is will attack from the back. Daniella Fusaro has a good first touch and controls the midfield.
Sacred Heart's Keri Anne Bradley strikes the ball well with both feet and is a one-on-one threat. Center backs Julia Sarnelli and Kiki Lobben lead a strong defensive unit.
Holy Trinity, which won the CHSAA Class A division last season, has a strong dribbler and finisher in Emily Rose. Aries Burrell is quick and athletic on the back line.
St. Dominic is led by Marissa Pizutto, the team's leading scorer over the last four seasons, and Olivia Goldberg, who sees the field well and distributes. Alexa Schultz leads a strong group of incoming freshmen.
Caroline Bunger and Jahnia Marimon will advance the ball for St. Mary's. Emillie Ruiz takes over in goal.
A young Our Lady of Mercy team has two senior starters, Mackenzie Early and Emma Murphy, coordinating the back line, and sophomores Julia Caccabo and Sarah Bowden creating in the midfield.
The focal point of the offense for defending PSAA champ Portledge is Marissa Stanco, who has finesse with the ball. Goalkeeper Jill Narby allowed one goal as a sophomore last season. Twin sisters Arianna and Alessandra Marciano patrol the midfield.
Long Island Lutheran has Kennedy Kerr, who is difficult to cover with her explosive first step, and Christina Loizou, the motor of the team in the midfield.
