Rangers defenseman K’Andre Miller has had surgery to repair an upper-body injury, according to a source. The 25-year-old Minnesota native is expected to make a full recovery and be available to play next season.

Miller suffered the injury late in the season, according to the source. It’s unknown exactly when the injury occurred, and Miller tried to rehab it. He eventually decided surgery was the best course of action.

He missed the final six games before the Christmas break with an upper-body injury and left a 5-1 win over the Islanders on Feb. 25 during the second period with what the team said at the time was a lower-body injury. He didn’t miss any games after that.

The 6-5, 210-pound Miller is a restricted free agent with arbitration rights this summer, having just finished a two-year, $7.74 million bridge contract signed in the summer of 2023. How this injury will affect his contract negotiations is unknown.

A first-round pick in the 2018 draft, Miller went through an up-and-down season in 2024-25, recording seven goals and 20 assists in 74 games. He was second on the team in ice time, behind Adam Fox, with an average of 21 minutes, 57 seconds.
