Fashion Designer & Author Jeffrey Banks in Conversation with David Alpern
Joined by David Alpern of Sag Harbor, former Newsweek editor and radio host, Banks will discuss his hefty, warm-hearted and profusely illustrated memoir with numerous tales of fashion figures and others who inspired or assisted him from master designers Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein to entertainment royalty including Audrey Hepburn, Fred Astaire, and a nearly naked Barbra Streisand. Far from showroom runways and window displays, Banks supports efforts focused on AIDS and breast cancer through special sales, fashion shows and galas. He is also on the board of the Hetrick-Martin Institute, advocating for LGBTQIA youth in education and housing.
