A 3,050-square-foot home in Saltaire on Fire Island is on the market for $3.75 million. The taxes are $17,782.

The Colonial is on a 0.23-acre lot at Broadway Road. It contains five bedrooms and 3½ bathrooms. That includes two ensuite bedrooms, one of which has its own deck on the second floor.

"Geographically, I think it's located in one of the best spots on [Fire Island]," said listing agent Nathaniel Larson, of Daniel Gale Sotheby's International Realty. "I think Broadway is one of the widest walks in Saltaire, so as far as a year-round property goes — and this is one of few — I think it's one of the better situated plots."

Larson actually grew up in this house, and it was custom-built by his father, he said. The sellers have lived there for three decades, Larson said.

"Every detail was extremely well-thought-out," Larson said. "And we did an extensive renovation after Hurricane Sandy."

The house is elevated, with three levels (including a 1,800-square-foot, aboveground basement). It also features a renovated kitchen with heated floors, and the dining room and guest bedroom boast wraparound windows.

Other standouts include a screened-in porch, full fire sprinkler system, outdoor kitchen and wood-burning fireplace. The property is in the Fire Island School District.

"It's just a spectacular place," said Larson said.
