Michael Myrick, 40, of Central Islip, killed in Southern State motorcycle crash, police say

A motorcyclist crashed and died Wednesday afternoon on the Southern State Parkway in Islip while apparently trying to exit the roadway, according to the New York State Police.
Michael E. Myrick, 40, of Central Islip, was killed in the crash, state police spokeswoman Brittany Burton said Thursday.
The crash happened at about 2:17 p.m. Wednesday on the eastbound parkway at Exit 43N when the motorcyclist apparently failed to negotiate a turn, according to Burton, whose Troop L covers Long Island.
No other details were provided about the circumstances of the crash.
