Long Island home prices set records in the first quarter, as competition for homes pressured buyers to pay above asking price in about half of all sales, Newsday reported.

According to data on single-family home sales released by OneKey MLS, 70 homes closed between $850,000 and $915,000, while 11 homes sold for exactly $900,000.
