High school sports roundup: Softball, baseball, lacrosse
Marissa Nosovitch struck out 18 in a one-hitter to lead Carle Place to a 6-0 win over Carey in Nassau Conference III softball on Wednesday. She also went 2-for-3 with an RBI, two doubles and two runs. Isabella Roman had two RBIs, a double and a run. Carle Place improved to 10-5. Andrea Arias struck out three for Carey (9-7).
Floral Park 6, Manhasset 4: Tiffany Matthews struck out 13 and went 2-for-3 with a double and a triple to lead Floral Park (13-0) in Nassau VII. Madison Sica went 1-for-2 with a triple, three RBIs, two stolen bases and picked off a runner at first.
Comsewogue 4, Smithtown West 3: Kiki Napolitano hit a two-out grand slam in the bottom of the fifth to give Comsewogue (5-4) the lead for good in Suffolk IV. Maggie Burrell struck out six in a complete game and went 1-for-3.
In the top of the sixth, Erin McDaid hit a two-run single for Smithtown West (6-6) to cut it to 4-3.

Glen Cove 4, Mineola 2: Brooke Simmons struck out 12 in an eight-inning no-hitter and went 3-for-4 with a home run for Glen Cove (6-6) in Nassau II. Mia Lupinski hit the go-ahead two-run home run and Julia Petrizzo went 2-for-4 with an RBI.
BASEBALL
Wantagh 10, Floral Park 0: Gavin Diegnan pitched his second consecutive six-inning no-hitter. Diegnan struck out 12, walked two and threw 88 pitches for Wantagh (11-1) in Nassau A-I. Diegnan also had a solo home run and an RBI walk. Tommy Wunderlich had three hits and three RBIs.
TUESDAY’S GAME
Mineola 6, Clarke 5: Ryan Valente hit a walk-off solo home run in the eighth inning to lead Mineola (7-3) in Nassau A-I. Martinez went 4-for-5 with a triple, two runs and an outfield assist. Jesse Kostulias had an RBI single in the sixth inning to tie the score at 5. Valente threw three scoreless innings in relief for the win. Craig Weydig homered for Clarke (12-1).

Island Trees 9, Roslyn 8: Joe Filocamo scored the winning goal with 2:27 left in overtime for Island Trees (6-4) in non-league. He had three goals and one assist. Joe Mainente had two goals and two assists. AJ Saragossi made 19 saves. Jack Becker and Josh Berger each scored three goals for Roslyn (5-6).
GIRLS LACROSSE
West Islip 10, Harborfields 9: Ava Obloj had three goals and Jenna Obloj had two goals and an assist for West Islip (10-2) in Suffolk II. Francesca Tofano had two goals and Makenna Gagliardi had five saves. Bella Monteleone and Jamie Medico each had two goals and an assist for Harborfields (8-4).
