THE SCOOP

Roslyn Estates, a tiny village on Nassau County’s North Shore, is “one of Long Island’s hidden gems,” says Mayor Jeffrey B. Schwartzberg. Home to just 400 families and covering less than a half-square mile, Schwartzberg says many people don’t know the village exists. But those who are lucky enough to get to know Roslyn Estates, Schwartzberg says, appreciate it as a “safe, family-oriented community” and “one of Long Island’s most beautiful spots.”

Schwartzberg calls Roslyn Estates a unique, architecturally diverse community. That’s part of what makes the village so desirable, says agent Golie Oheb of Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty. Oheb says Roslyn Estates’ differing styles of homes and property sizes are appealing to homebuyers, who can find everything from Colonials to ranches and split-levels to newly constructed homes.

Oheb says Roslyn Estates residents also benefit from its location — walking distance to the luxury shopping center Americana Manhasset and minutes by car to the Northern State Parkway, Long Island Expressway and multiple public transportation options.

Roslyn Estates residents are also near Christopher Morley Park, Oheb says, where they can take advantage of the outdoor ice rink and swimming pool as well as the nine-hole golf course, dog run and fitness trail. The 98-acre park also features a place to sail model boats, a playground and picnic area as well as tennis, basketball and paddleball courts and athletic fields for baseball and volleyball.
