Tattoo artist Kat von D said that she walked off the set of "Good Day L.A." yesterday morning after the show ignored her request not to mention her breakup with fiance Jesse James during her introduction -- a contention the show denies.

"When we booked the segment there was only one caveat," the TV show posted on its KTTV Web page.

"We agreed to NOT talk about Sandra Bullock or Michelle McGee. If one of the stipulations was to NOT talk about her breakup with Jesse James, we never would have agreed to the booking. However, that was never requested."

Von D, 29, who announced that she and James split this week, told TMZ.com she had "very politely" informed the producers not to mention James in her introduction, which used a TLC clip promoting the fifth-season premiere of her reality show, "LA Ink." The clip depicted her getting a tattoo of James' face as a child.

Her departure was followed by a series of dueling tweets between herself and co-host Jillian Barberie Reynolds.

Von D's representative did not return Newsday's request for comment.

Meanwhile, the day before he confirmed his breakup with von D, James was awarded sole custody of Sunny, his 7-year-old daughter with ex-wife Janine Lindemulder. "Jesse is very pleased with this decision," James' attorney, John R. Schilling, told Us magazine yesterday.
