Johnny Depp will co-star in the sequel to the soon-to-be-released “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.”
Deadline.com reports that the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise headliner, 53, will appear in an unspecified role, adding that “you might spot” Depp in a previously undisclosed “tiny turn in the first installment,” scheduled for release Nov. 18.
Inspired by the fictional textbook in author J.K. Rowling’s series of Harry Potter novels, the films star Oscar-winner Eddie Redmayne (“The Theory of Everything”) as writer and wizard Newt Scamander, who comes to New York City 70 years before Harry reads the textbook at Hogwart’s.
Warner Bros. previously announced that the sequel will hit theaters Nov. 16, 2018. David Yates, who has directed four Harry Potter films, helms both “Fantastic Beasts” movies.
