Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter are about to reunite for what will hopefully be another excellent adventure.

The actors, who starred in the popular 1989 slacker movie comedy "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure" and its two sequels, will headline the Broadway revival of Samuel Beckett's "Waiting for Godot" in the fall of 2025. The show marks Reeves' Broadway debut, but Winter is a stage veteran. As Alexander Winter, he first appeared on Broadway as Anna's son in the 1978 revival of "The King and I" with Yul Brynner and the following year played John Darling in the 1979 revival of "Peter Pan" starring Sandy Duncan in the title role.

Jamie Lloyd, who is helming the upcoming Broadway revival of "Sunset Boulevard" with Nicole Scherzinger as Norma Desmond, will direct "Waiting for Godot."

“We’re incredibly excited to be on stage together and work with the great Jamie Lloyd in one of our favorite plays,” said Reeves and Winter in a joint statement.

"Waiting for Godot" is a tragicomedy about Estragon (Reeves) and Vladimir (Winter), two men who eagerly await the arrival of a mysterious man named Godot by a tree at dusk. When Godot fails to show up, many questions arise, including whether the men are at the right location. The show originally opened in 1956 with Bert Lahr and E.G. Marshall in the leads. It has since enjoyed several revivals on Broadway, most recently with Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart in 2013.

Reeves and Winter, both 59, have been friends since making "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure," in which they played two less-than-stellar high school students who embark on a time-traveling escapade. The film's box-office success led to two sequels — "Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey" in 1991 and "Bill & Ted Face the Music" (2020), in which their characters were now middle-age dads.
