Veteran Queens comic Chris Distefano joined Comedy Central's "The Daily Show" as a contributor Thursday, and gave a couple of (sort-of) shoutouts to Long Island during his segment called "Can Chris solve it?".
"If you're like me, you love having opinions about things you don't know anything about," he said, introducing his new segment, "so today we're going to go through some of the world's biggest problems to find out if Chrissy can solve them." (Yes, Distefano often refers to himself in the third person as "Chrissy" on his podcasts.)
The first problem, "tariffs," he said. "I have no idea what a tariff is, and don't pretend you do either, babe, unless you went to Hofstra University, or one of the fancy ones — I couldn't get in."
He later joked that he looked like the "Ronkonkoma fire chief," before closing the 6-minute bit with "I hope you didn't learn anything today because if you did you're dumber than me, and I got bad news for you — you're definitely getting rejected from Hofstra."
In February, as a contestant on "Celebrity Jeopardy!," Distefano riffed about his academic experience with host Ken Jennings, calling Nassau Community College "the Harvard of community colleges."
