The spate of documentaries about Blue Point-raised Gabby Petito and her fiance and killer, Brian Laundrie, continues with “Toxic Love: The Gabby Petito Tragedy.” The two-hour "HLN Investigates" special on that CNN sister network airs Nov. 5.

In a homicide that gripped the nation last year, the 22-year-old Petito and fellow Bayport-Blue Point High School graduate Laundrie had embarked on a cross-country road trip that culminated in her disappearance, the recovery of her body in Wyoming and an autopsy determining she died of strangulation, Laundrie's suicide in Florida  and his confession of her slaying in a notebook found with his remains.

“As more evidence came to light, viewers across the country have had more questions about the tragic circumstances surrounding Gabby Petito’s death," executive producer Elizabeth Yuskaitis said in a statement Tuesday, maintaining that the upcoming special, which includes interviews with Petito's father, investigators on the case "and local experts … is the definitive telling of everything we know so far.”

Previous documentaries have included Investigation Discovery's "Gabby Petito: ID Special Report" in October 2021 and this month's follow-up, "The Murder of Gabby Petito: What Really Happened," and Peacock's "The Murder of Gabby Petito: Truth, Lies and Social Media" last December. As well, the Lifetime TV-movie "The Gabby Petito Story" and an accompanying documentary aired earlier this month.
