When the gang on "Glee" breaks into a dance number, check out Heather Morris. She's the real deal.

"I've been dancing since I was 1," says Morris, who plays cheerleader Brittany Pierce on the hit comedy-musical (returning with new episodes beginning 8 tomorrow night on Fox).

"I started walking at 7 months." Now, at age 24, Morris is getting known for more than how her feet move. This season, dumb-bunny Brittany has emerged as a breakout character, the kind who spouts lines fans love to quote.

Brittany thinks recipes are confusing. She cheats off the dumb kids in the class and once suspected her cat of reading her diary. She has admitted she thinks dolphins are gay sharks.

"I think she thinks that, in her mind, she knows it all," Morris says. "She thinks she knows things that nobody else knows, and, unfortunately, she wants to share that." Despite this, "she's learning from the other kids," Morris says of the character. "She's trying to grow." Morris is trying, too.

"I try to learn from [co-stars] Cory [Monteith] and Lea [Michele]," says Morris, who is working on her acting and singing skills to match her fancy footwork. "Brittany doesn't really sit back and watch. She just says things.

"I watch how [co-stars] do things, and I learn things just by doing that."
