A Brooklyn man was sentenced Thursday to a decade in prison for selling cocaine and other narcotics that were expected to be distributed across East Hampton and Montauk during the busy summer tourism months.

Michael Khodorkovskiy, 45, will also serve five 5 years of post-release supervision after pleading guilty in April to second-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance. As part of his plea agreement, Khodorkovskiy forfeited more than $572,000 in cash and property.

"Khodorkovskiy’s operation was not only expansive, it was sophisticated and targeted," Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond Tierney, said in a news release. "His arrest followed a long-term investigation that uncovered over a kilogram of cocaine, hidden compartments in his vehicle, and nearly $140,000 in cash and gold coins linked to drug sales. The sentence he received today reflects the seriousness of his crimes."

Matthew Myers, Khodorkovskiy’s Manhattan-based defense attorney, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Prosecutors contend Khodorkovskiy sold large quantities of cocaine to an undercover police officer near his Brooklyn home between July 2023 and August 2024 with the expectation that the drugs would be distributed across the East End of Suffolk County.

Khodorkovskiy also traveled to East Hampton and sold cocaine to another undercover cop, prosecutors said.

Throughout the investigation, police officers, working undercover, were able to infiltrate Khodorkovskiy’s operation and pose as customers, authorities said.

Khodorkovskiy told the undercover officers, records show, that the drugs were earmarked for the Hamptons during the summer months.

The transactions with the undercover officers began small, mostly between $360 and $600 over the first month, eventually growing to $10,000 purchases of as much as 150 grams of cocaine on two occasions between May and June, court records show.

Khodorkovskiy told one of the undercover officers that he began selling cocaine while working as a private driver in East Hampton, prosecutors said.

Each gram of cocaine was split into separate Ziploc bags, according to court records, and the sales were conducted at meetings in Suffolk, Brooklyn and Queens.

He was arrested on Aug. 2, 2024, by members of the Suffolk District Attorney’s East End Drug Task Force.

At the time of his arrest, Khodorkovskiy was in possession of a kilo and a quarter of cocaine, prosecutors said.

Inside Khodorkovskiy’s Mercedes-Benz, police discovered a hidden compartment filled with additional cocaine and the drug MDMA, court records state.

During a search warrant of Khodorkovskiy’s home, police also seized $38,550 in cash and 39 gold coins with an estimated value of $100,000, authorities said.

An additional $395,055 was later seized from various bank accounts linked to Khodorkovskiy, officials said.
