Adana Taranis, 19, killed in Lake Success crash, police say

Police said a 19-year-old woman, whom they did not identify, was driving on the Long Island Expressway's south service road near Community Drive in Lake Success at about 7:30 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2015, when she lost control of the sedan and struck a tree. Credit: Howard Schnapp
A 19-year-old woman killed in a single-car accident Monday night in Lake Success was identified Tuesday as a Great Neck resident.
Adana Taranis was driving east on the Long Island Expressway's South Service Road near Community Drive about 7:30 p.m. when she lost control of the sedan and it struck a tree, Nassau police said.
Taranis was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:50 p.m., police said.
There were no passengers in the vehicle, police said, and no criminality is suspected in the crash.
