Nassau police arrested a man Monday morning after they said he broke into a Uniondale supermarket in the early morning hours.

Robert Palacios, 42, of upstate Amsterdam was arrested on charges of third-degree burglary and criminal mischief after First Precinct officers responding to a call of a burglary in process, found him inside of the Torres Supermarket, 973 Front Street in Uniondale.

Officers arrived at the store around 5 a.m. and found the front door kicked in and the store alarm blaring, according to a police report. Palacios was in one of the store aisles and was arrested "without incident," police said.

He is to be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Tuesday.
