Meadowbrook State Parkway reopens after crash leaves one seriously hurt, officials say

One person was seriously injured Thursday when a car veered off the northbound Meadowbrook State Parkway and into a wooded area north of Babylon Turnpike on the Merrick-Roosevelt line, State Police said.
The one-car crash happened about 12:30 p.m.
Police initially closed all northbound lanes in the area and reopened them just before 3:45 p.m., according to informny.com.
Police said the cause of the accident is under investigation, and that it appears the driver was alone in the car.
