Nassau County police are trying to determine the origin of medical waste found washed up on the shore Wednesday morning at Manorhaven Beach Park in Port Washington.

A worker at the beach on Manorhaven Boulevard discovered "approximately 78 hypodermic needles, 43 hypodermic wrappers and 32 vials of a miscellaneous drug" on the beach at 8:10 a.m., Nassau police said in a news release.
