Sarah S. Anker D
NEW YORK STATE SENATE, 1ST DISTRICT
BACKGROUND

ISSUES
- Anker said that as a Democrat in a Democrat-led State Senate, she is better positioned than a Republican to bring in more funding for the district’s schools, open-space projects and mental health and anti-addiction programs.
- She said housing growth is a key to keeping Long Island prosperous and that state leaders need to work with municipalities to grow housing.
- Anker said she supports expanding clean-water infrastructure and farmland preservation, and said the state should do more to monitor sand mines and illegal trash/waste dumping.
