Baby found on Brentwood porch, Suffolk police say
A 6-week-old baby girl was found tucked into a shoe box and left on a porch of a home in Brentwood, Suffolk County police said.
The infant, wrapped in a blanket and with a bottle of milk laid on her, was found unharmed by a 14-year-old who lives at the home, police said. The teen had heard cries coming from the rear porch of his house on Washington Avenue Thursday evening and found her at about 8:55 p.m., police said in a news release.
The teen alerted his family, who brought the baby inside and called 911. She was taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where doctors said she was in good health, said police, who notified Child Protective Services.
Police are continuing to investigate and anyone with information is asked to call Third Squad detectives at 631-854-8352.
