Rangers schedule for 2024-25 NHL season

The NHL released the schedule for its 2024-25 season on Tuesday. The Rangers open their season on the road, at Pittsburgh, Oct. 9, and play their home opener Oct. 12 against the Utah Hockey Club. They close the season April 17 at the Garden against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Their longest road trip is four games, to Seattle, Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton Nov. 17-23. There is one more span of four straight away games – at Columbus, Buffalo, Pittsburgh and the Islanders from Feb. 8-25, but that is broken up by the 12-day break for the 4 Nations Face-Off international tournament, Feb. 9-21.
There are two stretches of six away games in a seven-game span, from Nov. 17-29, and from Dec. 15-30. The three-game California trip is March 25-29, with games at Los Angeles March 25 and back-to-back in Anaheim and San Jose March 28-29.
The longest homestand is five games, from Nov. 29-Dec. 9, and there are three other four-game homestands, Jan. 21-28, Feb. 28-Mar. 5 and Mar. 16-22.
There are 12 sets of back-to-backs, the first of which comes on Thanksgiving Weekend, Nov. 29 at Philadelphia, Nov. 30 at home against Montreal. Eight are home-and-away sets, with two sets of back-to-back home games, and two sets where both games are away.
The first meeting against the Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers, who eliminated the Rangers in six games in the Eastern Conference final, will be Oct. 24 at the Garden.
