A funny lady has just joined the cast of "Funny Girl."

"Glee" Emmy Award winner Jane Lynch will co-star with Beanie Feldstein in the first Broadway revival of the 1964 musical about Ziegfeld Follies star Fanny Brice that is set to open next spring. Lynch will play the star's mother, Rosie Brice, with Feldstein taking on the role of Fanny Brice that made Barbra Streisand a star in the original production.

"I grew up to the Broadway cast album of 'Funny Girl.' My mother and I knew every breath of that record and would sing it together at the top of our lungs," Lynch said in a statement. "I am thrilled beyond words to be playing Fanny’s mother on Broadway. And somewhere in Heaven my Mom is asking, ‘Who taught her everything she knows?’ "

The show will mark Lynch's second Broadway turn. She previously played the evil Miss Hannigan in 2013 in a revival of "Annie."

Also new to the "Funny Girl" cast are Iranian actor Ramin Karimloo as Fanny Brice's gambler husband Nicky Arnstein and Jared Grimes as dancer Eddie Ryan.

Previews for "Funny Girl" begin March 26 at the August Wilson Theatre with opening night set for April 24 — Streisand's 80th birthday. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at seatgeek.com.
